Foreign Nationals Caught Hiding in Ceiling During KL Raid

Two foreign nationals attempted to evade arrest by hiding in a ceiling during an immigration raid at a shophouse in Medan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur. Immigration officers spent several minutes detaining the duo, who resisted arrest.

Foreign Nationals Caught Hiding in Ceiling During KL Raid

They were among 895 individuals screened in an integrated operation involving the Putrajaya and Negeri Sembilan Immigration Departments and other agencies. A total of 506 foreigners were detained for various offences, including overstaying and lacking valid documents.

Many were living in overcrowded shophouse rooms intended for far fewer occupants. Most detainees, aged 25–65, were from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Indonesia, and are now held in Bukit Jalil.
