Recently, tragedy struck in the UUM campus when two buses collide and one of them hit the bus stop, unfortunately claiming the life of a student. This prompted several social media users who have been pro-pedestrian citing that more covered walkways should be installed in university campuses.

However, those either studying or have studied in the university states that the campus is actually pedestrian friendly. Despite the campus being large, the facilities for the students are good, according to netizens.
Others state that the university management should not be blamed for this incident as such issues can be out of their control.
