Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi emphasized the need to strengthen people-to-people ties between Malaysia and Indonesia, beyond traditional government and business relations.

Speaking at a dinner with Malaysians in South Jakarta, he highlighted the potential political and economic benefits of deeper community engagement. Zahid, on a three-day official visit, also addressed the need for greater Asean cooperation on U.S. tariffs, especially as Malaysia assumes the Asean Chair in 2025.
The event, hosted at the Malaysian Embassy, featured cultural elements, Aidilfitri spirit, and direct interaction between Zahid and Malaysians residing, working, and studying in Indonesia.
