Overnight thunderstorms triggered severe flash floods across the Klang Valley this morning, inundating major highways and paralyzing traffic. Flooding was reported at the Elite Highway near the Shah Alam Interchange and the NKVE northbound at Km 9.1, affecting lanes and causing significant jams stretching to Setia Alam.
Flash Floods Paralyse Klang Valley Roads After Overnight Storms
Authorities advised motorists to take alternative routes. Selangor Fire and Rescue reported 86 homes impacted in areas like Sungai Buloh, Petaling Jaya, and Subang Jaya, although no evacuations were necessary.
MetMalaysia also issued thunderstorm warnings across several states, including Selangor, Johor, and Penang, cautioning residents of continued adverse weather until 9am.
