Education Ministry apologises for mistakenly depicting the Jalur Gemilang in SPM report

The Education Ministry issued an apology for mistakenly depicting the Jalur Gemilang in its SPM examination analysis report, showing two stars instead of one and only eight red-and-white stripes instead of 14. The ministry called the error unacceptable, as the flag symbolizes Malaysia’s sovereignty, and promised immediate action against those responsible, with a detailed investigation underway. The faulty reports were recalled for correction. This follows a recent blunder by Sin Chew Daily, which published a flag illustration missing the crescent moon, leading to police probes, arrests of two editors, and the suspension of its chief editor and deputy, highlighting recurring flag-related errors.
