Housewife Scammed of RM150,000 in Facebook Stock Scheme

A 58-year-old housewife from Pahang lost RM150,190 to a fraudulent stock investment scheme advertised on Facebook. According to state police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman, the victim contacted three individuals via WhatsApp after seeing the ad on Jan 21 and was told to download the “Tung Shing” app and join two investment-related groups.

Between Feb 23 and April 18, she made 13 bank transfers using her savings. Although she received RM11,600 as returns, further withdrawals were blocked unless she made additional payments. Police urged the public to be cautious and verify investment offers before committing funds.
