Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) is emerging as a third force in Malaysian politics, championing the needs of the masses disillusioned by mainstream parties. With a vote share rising to 6% in Ayer Kuning, PSM rejects racial politics and power-driven alliances, focusing on class-based policies like higher wages and affordable housing. “We are building a movement for the 99%, growing organically without compromising our socialist soul,” says Arveent Kathirtchelvan, party central committee member. As Pakatan Harapan aligns with Barisan Nasional, the socialists consolidate support, poised to challenge the political giants and create a system serving the people, not the elite.
