Barisan Nasional (BN), led by chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, is strengthening ties with Pakatan Harapan (PH) to form a robust “BN, PH plus” coalition for the upcoming Sabah state election (PRN17). Zahid emphasized collaboration over confrontation, leaving strategic decisions to Sabah BN with central guidance. BN remains open to partnering with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), adhering to a policy of broad political cooperation. While BN plans to contest 40 of 73 state seats, Zahid noted that detailed seat-sharing discussions with PH are premature. The coalition aims to dominate through unity, leaving 33 seats for PH.
