The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) has refuted viral claims that its Insan Rabbani rehabilitation programme for former GISB Holdings members focuses solely on tajwid (Qur’anic pronunciation).
MAIS Denies Viral Claims, Says GISBH Rehab Programme Is More Than Just Tajwid
MAIS secretary Dr Ahmad Shahir Makhtar clarified that the programme, launched in February 2025, is a comprehensive Islamic faith rehabilitation effort aligned with a 2024 fatwa declaring GISBH’s teachings deviant.
The 24-session course includes modules on Qur’anic studies, akidah (faith), tasawuf (spiritual purification), and fikah (jurisprudence), taught by 51 certified instructors across four locations. A separate holistic curriculum is used for children. MAIS emphasized that social media claims are misleading and false.
