PUTRAJAYA, May 13, 2025 — PAS deputy president Datuk Sri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man warned that Nurul Izzah Anwar’s candidacy for PKR deputy president could fuel nepotism concerns, given her father, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is party president. Speaking at the GTZ2030 Action Plan launch, he noted public criticism of the move as “nepotistic.” Nurul Izzah confirmed her challenge against incumbent Rafizi Ramli for the May 24 election, backed by 201 PKR branch leaders. Rafizi, also Economy Minister, vowed to resign from the Cabinet if defeated, while pledging to remain Pandan MP, respecting grassroots mandates. For our readers, nepotism is the practice among those with power or influence of favouring relatives, friends, or associates, especially by giving them jobs.
