The legal representative for Pamela Ling’s family, Sangeet Kaur Deo, has demanded an immediate, independent investigation into the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) role in Ling’s disappearance 33 days ago. Criticizing MACC’s silence, Sangeet questioned the agency’s integrity, asking why Ling was targeted over personal matters unrelated to MACC’s powers and why no arrest warrant was issued. Ling, embroiled in matrimonial disputes and a fraud lawsuit in Singapore, faced “aggressive MACC interference,” raising concerns of misuse of power. Sangeet warned against sweeping the case under the rug, urging transparency to restore public trust in MACC.
