A 23-year-old Malaysian plunged into debt after trying to cash in on the toy resale craze involving Pokémon cards and Labubu dolls. After placing bulk pre-orders, the hype fizzled, leaving him with unsold stock and RM10,000 in losses. 

Malaysian Labubu Reseller Owes RM93K to Loan Sharks 

Desperate, he borrowed from 14 loan sharks, amassing RM93,000 in debt. His parents stepped in, settling with 12 lenders for RM49,000, but two ruthless ah longs are now demanding RM15,000 and RM29,000 each for RM1,000 loans. 

Overwhelmed, he turned to MCA’s Public Services and Complaints Department for help and has filed police reports in Melaka and Kajang as he seeks legal recourse.
