SINGAPORE, May 17, 2025 — The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) has demanded a public inquiry after a photo surfaced showing Ministers Ng Chee Meng, Ong Ye Kung, and Chee Hong Tat at a dinner where two individuals later convicted in a major money laundering case were also present. The SDP raised concerns about public trust, potential breaches of Covid-19 rules, and whether the dinners were official or personal. The ministers, who attended by invitation, denied personal ties to the individuals and have sued over related claims. The SDP urged Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to address the issue transparently to safeguard Singapore’s reputation for integrity.
