Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s statement that 1MDB is just one of many billion-ringgit financial scandals involving former leaders has triggered various reactions, and PAS Central Information Chief, Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, in a Facebook post, expressed agreement that there are indeed many other financial scandals that need investigation. However, the Pasir Mas MP questioned the genuine commitment of Anwar’s government in resolving these cases. “How many years will it take? This government has been in power for over two years, and the general election is approaching soon. When will these investigations happen?” he asked. Ahmad Fadhli pointed to the government’s failure to take decisive action against new scandals during its tenure.
