The ACCA Global Talent Trends Survey 2025 reveals that 46% of Malaysian finance professionals such as accountants, aspire to become entrepreneurs, while 64% plan to change jobs within two years. The study, covering over 10,000 professionals across 175 countries, highlights key trends shaping Malaysia’s finance sector.

Notably, 71% of respondents express interest in sustainability-focused careers, demonstrating a shift toward environmental accountability. Meanwhile, 80% prefer hybrid work, though only 59% currently experience it. A significant 63% worry about lacking future-ready skills, particularly in AI, while 40% demand salary hikes due to rising living costs.

Retention issues persist, with 62% expecting to leave their current organizations. Mental health remains a pressing concern, as 59% struggle with work-related stress. Additionally, 35% engage in secondary income-generating activities. The survey underscores Malaysia’s evolving finance landscape, urging employers to focus on talent development and workplace innovation to secure industry growth.
