Apparently, schools under the Yayasan Islam Kelantan will have their morning sessions start at 8am. Netizens agree with this citing that it would give school children more time to prepare for their school day.

An X user adds that since we changed our timing to GMT+8, the actual school times have remained the same despite the 1 hour difference from GMT+7. The user added that an 8am start is aligned with the sun better, and psychologically, it wouldn’t feel as early to school children as a 7am start might feel like.
Others state that an 8am start will help the children have a proper nutritious breakfast as they’d have actual time to eat.
