JOHOR BAHRU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim defended the extension of MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki’s contract, citing his bold and thorough anti-corruption efforts. Speaking at PKR’s 2025 National Congress, Anwar praised Azam’s unprecedented courage in targeting high-profile figures, including billionaires, despite criticism from various quarters. “For the first time, MACC has dared to investigate ‘big tycoons,’” he said, emphasizing Azam’s actions against prominent individuals.
