JOHOR BAHRU: Nurul Izzah Anwar’s landslide victory over Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli in the PKR deputy presidency race, securing 9,803 votes to his 3,866, has sparked disillusionment among Reformasi diehards. Announced by party election chief Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, Nurul Izzah’s 60.6% margin win prompted many PKR stalwarts to vow dissociation, claiming the party is in “self-destruction mode.” Malaysiakini reported sarcastic online comments, with some mocking that Nurul Izzah’s sisters might contest vice-presidency or her husband could join the Central Leadership Council. The victory of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s daughter has fueled concerns about dynastic politics within PKR.
