The former Umno leader stated that Rafizi’s role as Minister of Economy remains valid as appointments are based on capability, not party rank. In the recent PKR election, Rafizi lost to Nurul Izzah Anwar.
Rafizi had earlier expressed willingness to resign from the Cabinet if he lost. Khairy advised Rafizi to continue his struggle within PKR, saying he believes in Rafizi’s long-standing commitment to the party’s cause.
