Malaysia Rejects LGBTQ Normalisation, Says Religious Affairs Minister

The government firmly rejects any efforts to normalise LGBTQ culture, whether openly or subtly, said Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar. Citing Islam as the religion of the federation and Eastern values, he stated that such lifestyles conflict with the Federal Constitution and national policy.

He condemned a recent Pride-themed event allegedly celebrating Pride Month, urging authorities to investigate and take action if laws were broken. He also called for religious agencies like JAKIM to be vigilant and enforce Islamic laws. The Madani government, he said, remains committed to protecting national morals, religion, and dignity from deviant influences.
