UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Puad Zarkashi has urged the party to take firm action against Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz following his announcement to resign from all UMNO positions and his intention to join the People’s Justice Party (PKR).
Backstabbing Umno?
Puad, who is also the Speaker of the Johor State Legislative Assembly, said UMNO should review the pledge signed by Zafrul when he was a Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate during the 15th General Election (GE15). He also suggested the possibility of demanding up to RM100 million in compensation if Zafrul’s move is deemed an act of party-hopping.
