PETALING JAYA – The Petroleum Dealers Association of Malaysia (PDAM) has urged the government to delay RON95 fuel subsidy rationalisation, citing unresolved issues threatening petrol station viability. PDAM president Khairul Annuar Abdul Aziz said dealer margins, unchanged since 2019, no longer reflect rising operating costs. He also highlighted the growing burden of merchant discount rates (MDR) on card payments, which increase with fuel prices while dealer commissions remain fixed. Khairul warned that smaller stations could suffer losses from day one of the policy rollout. PDAM also denied claims of lacking consultation, calling them misleading.
