Malaysia has been ranked the 10th scariest country in the world to drive in, according to a global survey involving over 2,000 drivers. Scoring 6.70 out of 10 on the “scare scale”, Malaysia is also the second most nerve-wracking Southeast Asian country to drive in after Thailand.

Tourists cited key fears such as driving on the opposite side of the road, dangerous local driving habits, and unfamiliar road laws and signs.
The survey highlights the challenges of navigating foreign roads, with language barriers and vehicle theft also listed among top concerns. Thailand ranked fifth globally with a score of 6.86.
