PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong and Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali traded barbs over subsidised LPG cylinder regulations for small food traders. Wee, in a Facebook post, presented evidence from 2021 parliamentary records, asserting the Control of Supplies (Amendment) Regulations 2021 never mentioned permits for using more than three cylinders. He argued the government has discretion in enforcement and demanded Armizan explain. Armizan hit back, sarcastically noting Wee’s newfound “people’s spokesperson” role and accusing him of citing the wrong law—Supply Control (Amendment) Act 2022—causing confusion.
