SHAH ALAM, June 11, 2025 – MCA president Dr Wee Ka Siong criticized Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Armizan Mohd Ali for not amending the controversial Supply Control (Amendment) 2021 regulations earlier, despite having ministerial powers under the 1961 Supply Control Act. Wee accused Armizan of enforcing strict Ops Gasak operations, causing public and trader backlash, only to make a U-turn after pressure. The dispute arose after Armizan claimed Wee was involved in approving the 2021 liquefied petroleum gas subsidy rules. Wee denied involvement, stating he was Transport Minister then, not responsible for the regulation. Wee Slams Minister For Not Using Powers To Amend Controversial LPG Regulation
