Gerik bus tragedy: All 15 UPSI students killed in crash now identified

IPOH: The Perak Education Department (JPN) has ordered a comprehensive report on a teacher’s controversial Facebook post regarding the tragic Gerik bus crash that killed 15 Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students. The post, which described the victims’ deaths as “dishonourable” and linked to PTPTN debts, sparked outrage. The teacher, employed at a Perak secondary school, deleted the post at 8:10 PM Tuesday after backlash and issued an apology, citing schizophrenia. Perak police confirmed no reports were filed. The Education Committee’s Khairudin Abu Hanipah expressed regret, urging swift action.
