In Johor Bahru, a Facebook group named ‘Grup Budak-budak Sekolah Rendah,’ accused of sharing indecent images of teenage girls, was deactivated following action by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), as announced by Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching. The group’s exposure by social media influencer Mek Yun prompted swift response. Teo highlighted ongoing investigations and the Safe Internet Campaign (KIS), educating students on cyber safety across 344 schools. She urged parents to guide children on responsible internet use, reinforcing efforts to combat online exploitation and protect young users.
