PETALING JAYA: A 19-year-old p-hailing rider’s attempt to beat a red light on Jalan Awan Besar, Kuala Lumpur, ended in a dramatic crash on Sunday. Speeding through the intersection, he collided with a car turning on a green light, somersaulting through the air. The rider sustained injuries to his hand and lips but required only outpatient treatment, said Kuala Lumpur traffic chief Zamzuri Isa. CCTV footage confirmed the rider’s reckless move, sparking concerns about road safety among delivery riders, with authorities urging stricter adherence to traffic rules to prevent such incidents.
