PETALING JAYA: PKR’s Subang MP Wong Chen has drawn criticism from party grassroots for publicly expressing frustration over the unity government’s lack of reforms, with Subang PKR deputy chief Wan Hasifi Amin calling for his resignation. Analyst James Chin said Wong’s policy expertise and urban popularity make him hard to replace, noting his ties to Rafizi Ramli’s reformist camp and diplomatic engagement. Despite Subang being a safe PKR seat, Chin said Wong’s fate lies with the party’s top leadership. Azmi Hassan criticized Wong’s public remarks, urging internal dialogue, highlighting tensions between Wong’s technocratic role and party loyalty.
