PUTRAJAYA: The whistleblower who exposed the Sabah corruption scandal, identified as Albert, faces charges on June 30, a decision his lawyer Mahajoth Singh called “shocking and disappointing.” Albert, a 36-year-old businessperson, was arrested at MACC headquarters but released on RM10,000 bail. “Without my client, the entire scandal would not have been investigated,” Mahajoth said, criticizing MACC’s move to prosecute instead of protect Albert. The lawyer also reported an attempt to intimidate him by naming him a witness, later retracted. Albert’s disclosures, made at personal risk, have significantly benefited public interest.
