Umno supreme council member Puad Zarkashi (perhaps sarcastically) suggested former Umno leaders like Khairy Jamaluddin, PKR MP Rafizi Ramli, Nik Nazmi, Shahril Hamdan, Akmal Nasir, Syed Saddiq, Wan Saiful Wan Jan, and Larry Sng form a new political party. He likened their potential alliance to a formidable football team, noting their seven to ten MP seats could wield significant bargaining power in Malaysia’s hung parliament. Despite Rafizi and Nik Nazmi quitting ministerial roles, they remain PKR members, while Sng leads Parti Bangsa Malaysia. Puad acknowledged their differing views but wished them luck in diversifying Malaysia’s democracy.
