The CSO Platform for Reform has outlined four demands to the government following the Kuala Lumpur High Court’s decision to grant a Discharge Not Amounting to Acquittal (DNAA) to former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in three money laundering charges linked to SRC International Sdn Bhd. The group highlighted procedural complexities that hinder effective prosecution. Key demands include establishing a fully independent Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) free from political interference to restore public trust in anti-corruption efforts. They also called for a clear separation of powers between the Attorney General and Public Prosecutor to ensure impartial, transparent legal processes.
