KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 — Mohd Khalid Ismail, former Special Branch director, has been named Inspector-General of Police on a two-year contract starting June 23, 2025. Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced the appointment, approved by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Mohd Khalid, 60, began his career in 1987, holding key roles including deputy director of Special Branch and security liaison officer in London. Saifuddin praised his leadership qualities.
