In a stunning upset at the Pas Arau Branch Annual General Meeting, Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli lost the Branch Chief (YDP) post for 2025-2027 to incumbent Solahudin Azmi, securing only 43 votes against 128. Deputy YDP Ruselee Eizan was defeated by Mohd Ridzuan Hashim (135 votes), while Mohd Yusairi Mansor won Vice YDP with 130 votes. Mohd Ridzuan pledged to leverage grassroots support to retain Perikatan Nasional’s five DUN seats in Arau for the 16th General Election. Upcoming elections in Padang Besar and Kangar promise further contests.
