Operation Midnight Hammer, a meticulously planned US strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, unfolded with seven B-2 stealth bombers departing Whiteman Air Force Base at 00:01 EDT on June 21. Flying 18 hours across the Atlantic with multiple mid-air refuelings, the bombers used minimal communications to maintain secrecy. A decoy B-2 flight toward the Pacific misled observers. At 18:40 EDT, the lead B-2 dropped GBU-57 bunker buster bombs on Fordo, followed by strikes on Natanz and Isfahan. Joined by 125 support aircraft, the mission evaded Iran’s defenses, ensuring tactical surprise.
