Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa announced that the government will assume full ownership of the RM4 billion Madani City in Putrajaya 25 years post-completion. Fully funded by Putrajaya Holdings under a Build-Lease-Maintain-Transfer model, the 102-acre project in Precinct 19 will provide 10,000 housing units for civil servants, addressing a 17,000-unit backlog. Dr Zaliha refuted claims of wasting public funds, emphasizing the project’s necessity and alignment with a sustainable, eco-friendly vision. Cabinet has approved Putrajaya Corporation as implementing body while UKAS will assess development costs. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who unveiled the project on June 3, will officiate its groundbreaking ceremony today.
