The United Democratic Alliance (Muda) will meet to plan its future following the acquittal of Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman on graft and corruption charges, said acting president Amira Aisya Abdul Aziz. The Court of Appeal overturned Syed Saddiq’s 2023 conviction, which included a seven-year sentence and RM10 million fine for misappropriating Armada funds and money laundering. The panel ruled the trial judge erred in evaluating evidence. Amira Aisya expressed relief, affirming Muda’s belief in Syed Saddiq’s innocence, and promised prompt updates on the party’s next steps.
