Indonesia: A Malaysian hiker was seriously injured after falling 200m on Indonesia’s Mount Rinjani while heading to Segara Anak Lake on June 27, 2025. The incident, reported by Sinar Harian, left the hiker with a fractured hip and head wounds. Mount Rinjani National Park chief Yarman confirmed the accident occurred at 2:20pm local time, prompting an immediate rescue operation. The hiker, able to walk slowly, received on-site first aid and was moved to a base for further treatment, possibly at Bhayangkara Hospital or Sembalun Health Centre. Yarman urged hikers to prioritize safety on the challenging terrain. This follows the recent death of Brazilian hiker Juliana Marins on the same volcano.
