Police confirmed that the suspicious object found at kilometre 265 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) was an 81mm mortar bomb, classified as an Unexploded Ordnance (UXO). Perak Police Chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said the bomb was safely destroyed by the Bomb Disposal Unit (UPB) using an electric detonation method.

The UXO was discovered during landscaping work near the Menora Tunnel around 9.30am. Authorities sealed off the area for safety, causing a 15km traffic jam. All lanes reopened by 3.44pm. No injuries or incidents were reported during the disposal process, and the highway is now deemed safe for travel.
