A 20-year-old man, the boyfriend of Maniishapriet Kaur Akhara’s housemate, is the main suspect in her murder at a Cyberjaya student hostel. Selangor police revealed he was given the access card and keys by his girlfriend, the victim’s housemate, who was away in her hometown. Having stayed overnight previously, he returned on the night of the murder with malicious intent. He allegedly struck Maniishapriet with an object, causing fatal blunt force trauma to her head. After the killing, he stole her laptop, phone, and ATM card, withdrawing RM200. Four suspects, including the main suspect, were arrested.
