A 63-year-old woman in Cheras has publicly disowned her 37-year-old son after he fled home on June 17, leaving behind unpaid debts with loan sharks. Since then, the family has endured constant harassment, including kidnapping threats and red paint splashed on their home.

The mother, who previously helped settle RM13,000 of his debt, says she can no longer assist and has lodged a police report. In a press conference with MCA’s Michael Chong, she pleaded for the threats to stop. Chong also urged loan sharks to pursue the debtor—not the innocent family—while police investigate the intimidation campaign.
