Umno President Ahmad Zahid said Hishammuddin Hussein’s six-year suspension was due to allegedly urging nine BN MPs to support Muhyiddin Yassin as PM post-GE15 and influencing 22 Sabah BN assemblymen to leave the party. Despite Sembrong UMNO submitting a proposal to lift his suspension, Hishammuddin himself has yet to appeal. Zahid stated UMNO could still consider the matter even without his formal appeal. Nevertheless, Hishammuddin says appealing his six-year Umno suspension would betray his principles. He learned of his suspension via media before receiving an official letter without explanation. Denied due process, he refuses to appeal, stressing this is about integrity, justice, and upholding core values, not position.
