Former Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) CEO Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani and four ex-senior officers have filed a lawsuit seeking over RM36 million in damages following their sudden dismissal.

They claim their termination was unlawful and orchestrated by an unauthorized executive committee. The plaintiffs allege reputational harm and a possible conspiracy involving Bank Rakyat. Syaiful seeks RM4 million in compensation, while others are claiming amounts between RM3 million and RM15 million. 

The group is demanding declarations that their dismissals were invalid. Syaiful also filed a police report in April alleging a malicious audit report was used to justify his termination.
