A 39-year-old nurse from Pahang lost over RM634,000 to a fraudulent investment scheme after being lured by a scammer she met on WhatsApp. The scam began with job offers abroad before shifting to an “investment” that promised 10% returns.

Nurse Now Scammed of RM634,000 in Fake Investment Scheme

The victim was instructed to transfer money via a suspicious website and ended up sending funds in stages to 10 different bank accounts between May 24 and June 29, using her savings and bank loans.

She realised she had been conned after failing to receive any returns and losing access to the platform. Police are investigating the case under Section 420 of the Penal Code.
