Many Pakatan Harapan (PH) supporters have criticised DAP for its last–minute call to extend the tenure of former Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and Court of Appeal president Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim, who retires today. They questioned DAP’s sincerity, noting it only voiced support on Tengku Maimun’s retirement day, despite her confirming in May that no extension offer had been made. Critics labelled DAP’s move as mere “play-acting” and “clowning,” accusing the party of lacking courage to raise the issue earlier with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Some noted extensions depend on the PM’s advice despite royal discretion.
