A 36-year-old trader lost RM66,825 to a fake part-time job scam advertised on a well-known e-commerce app. She was instructed to perform tasks in return for commissions but received no payment despite complying.

Tangkak police chief Supt Roslan Mohd Talib said the victim made 12 transfers to eight different accounts. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code for cheating, which carries a sentence of up to 10 years, caning, and fines.
Authorities urge the public to verify any job offers, especially those promising fast earnings, and to confirm company and bank account legitimacy before transferring money.
