PAS leader Zaharudin Muhammad has filed legal action against Human Resources Minister Steven Sim for alleged slander. This follows Sim’s statement criticising Zaharudin’s remarks about the promotion of Malaysia’s first Chinese lieutenant general. Zaharudin, PAS Sungai Buloh chief and son-in-law of party president Abdul Hadi Awang, denied insulting the armed forces, demanding an apology through a letter of demand delivered to Sim’s closed service centre in Penang. Zaharudin also challenged Sim to a debate on the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme. Sim had earlier accused Zaharudin of undermining the armed forces and the Agong’s trust in Lieutenant General Johnny Lim.
