UMNO Youth Chief Dr Akmal Saleh has called for unity within the party, including the return of former leaders who were suspended or expelled. Emphasizing that UMNO belongs to all Malays, he said reconciliation requires everyone to set aside their egos for the sake of party strength.

Speaking in Seremban, he expressed readiness to act as a mediator and stressed that those once punished still have contributions that should not be forgotten. Despite UMNO’s stance that reinstatement depends on appeals, figures like Hishammuddin Hussein remain firm in not submitting appeals. Akmal remains optimistic, calling unity essential but not a one-sided effort.
