Malaysian police have shot dead a third suspect in a cross-state armed robbery gang during a shootout in Bandar Puteri Jaya, Kedah, just hours after killing two other members in Jitra. The 34-year-old Perak native, armed with a pistol, resisted arrest, said Bukit Aman CID acting director Fadil Marsus. The gang, comprising over a dozen members, is linked to armed robberies, gangsterism, and drug trafficking across four Malaysian states since 2022, with losses nearing US$1.4 million. Police believe the syndicate orchestrated coordinated heists involving gold shops and businesses nationwide. Investigations are ongoing under Section 307 of the Penal Code.
