Former Penang deputy chief minister Prof Ramasamy Palanisamy has predicted a grim outlook for the Madani government, citing its failure to fulfil reform promises. He said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s administration risks collapse before completing its term due to internal contradictions. “The Madani coalition is faltering under its own weight,” Ramasamy warned, noting that UMNO’s disproportionate influence has hamstrung meaningful reforms. He added that the public’s frustration over rising costs, taxes, and stagnant wages has deepened disillusionment. Unless Anwar reclaims his reformist agenda and unites coalition partners, Ramasamy said the government’s survival prospects remain bleak.
